The Maryland Deaf Driver visor card program is explained on MotorWeek (9/26/09 TV Show). The Charles County, MD Sheriff Rex Coffey appears. (beginning of this clip was missed)
I've seen these used. (I know about a deaf woman that was in a serious car accident- had a MD visor...They knew to get her an interpreter at the hospital. (It helped that they knew she was deaf and not ignoring questions by the paramedics.)She put the phone number of an interpreting service she uses--so that helped as well.
