A friend of mine and I netted Lucky along with seven of his sibs out of the infamous Crofton Pond in Maryland. It was then that the DNR realized they had a much bigger problem on their hands. At first they thought that the two adult snakeheads cought earlier in the month was an isolated case. We set out to prove otherwise and within an half hour we had our proof. One went to the DNR for confirmation and the rest remained with us. Five of which died while they were still very young. I had lucky for two years before he died. When we netted them they were less than 3 inches long. Lucky grew to nineteen and three quarter inches before he broke through the top of my aquarium and died on the living room floor.
aww sad how he died

thats a lie snakehead cant live out of water for 72 hours unless its either raining or very wet. i had a northern snakehead which i bought at a store the week before they made them illegal but it died by jumpin out of the tank also. id do anything to get another i think there beautiful fish and yes very mean to other fish but worth having in a large fish tank in a house. its no different then goin to a fishstore and buyin a lion fish or large python

How could he die on the living room floor? I thought snakeheads could live for up to 72 hours without water
