You hear the sound of sirens all the time in London and a lot of traffic still goes through Trafalgar Square even with them blocking off the bit between the National Gallery and the square. Normally people just block it out and pay no attention - the silence heightened the awareness for me that the emergency services are responding to events all the time.

And for all those who were homophobically killed but who's murders weren't reported as a hate crime, for whatever reason,be that fear of reprisals, apathy of the police etc. STOP THE HATE!
And,R.I.P ALL who've been murdered because of bigotry and hate.

Ahh what a pity, the poor lads??????

The feral teens have been jailed for manslaughter. It was clearly murder. Joel will be getting raped in prison. Rachel Burke was also mentioned as being involved. Ruby Thomas, a complete tool, has thrown away her future. Blame the parents.

@ReaganSmashObama It's people like you that make the idea of death camps for your kind sound appealing.

WOW! Not only do you hate police you are also a homophobe! The more I learn about you the most I hate you my little English twat... I mean tart... You are a bigot and a phony in every sense of the word.

how moving, that so many people can give hope to change and focus to the issue of hate crime. In London you can hear from the silence how busy you must be..
Then Rhona read the many names recognised from media reports during my time in the UK ... They are like brothers and sisters to me. rip
The UK is very mean to gays. They are always talking about lighting up "fags" and eating "faggots". They need a sensitivity class or two if you ask me.

Alas, Trafalgar Square is a traffic hub in London's West End, and a cool 1 million people are out enjoying themselves.
So statistically, even if 1 in 10,000 of them are falling ill or getting injured, that's 100 people requiring the emergency services which all come along the roads around the square.
So the emergency services are always present with their sirens..!
