my mom's parents were both from china, but she was born and raised in jamaica. bet you never thought you'd hear this accent come from a little chinese woman.

I know to some people, hey may find this rare but in Jamaica, it's very common. There are several Asians as well as East Indians living Jamaica..in fact we have them all! However, we dont really categorize them so much into different nationalities...we just call them Jamaicans. "Out of Many One People"-that's our motto.

thats what i love about our country we dont act like only the blacks are jamaican. We all are jamaicans and everybody speak them patois and have the accent. no matter the skin color u can know a yardie anywhere. Jamaica to the world!

No, she is right. There are several asian in Jamaica, but there we dont really categorize and say that she is asian..we just say she is Jamaican.
