thank you for responding. I have the originals plus 1 compilation ( I know that there are more) that is half Julio Gutierrez and Half Cachao. But I still stress to you my previuos reply. Start doing some research and if you can talk to some Salsa (experienced) musicians and ask them their thoughts about Israel Lopez Cachao and relate to them your feelings of him being "overrated" Unfortunat-ely he has and remains severely underrated. I do thank you for responding and please excuse my rashness.

This is the third time I've tried to respond to you, the others never showed up. Perhaps it is because I tried posting links to sources showing Cachao played on the Cuban Jam Sessions albums and some sort of spam filter was at work. Anyway, there are a vast number of sources out their showing Cachao played on the Cuban Jam Session albums, I really don't know why you believe he did not.

You are offensively uneducated when it comes to this genre of music. Cachao was not on the Julio Guttierrez jam seesions.. but left a "clinic" of his own albums. These albums are a literal school for musicians who are into salsa today and past. Cachao set the pace for the modern tumbaos in the authentic mambo and the upright bass format. Sir or whatever your opinion of your thoughts are what is overrated.

its possible to be great and still be overrated. the american media gives cachao too much credit for the albums he was on. albums like Cuban Jam Sessions(descarga cubana) were great in only small part to cachao's contribution.
