I grew up believing my country didnt torture. I grew up believing we were better than that. I grew up believing that my country took the high road and set the standard for the world. I was wrong. Our prison at Guantanamo and photos from Abu Ghraib proved me wrong.
Many of our leaders and educated men speak in favor of torture and proclaim that it is necessary. Many Americans are convinced that torture is necessary and will argue in favor of it.
You cannot build a straw man big enough to make me agree that torture is justified. Torture is wrong, it is illegal and it is immoral; period.
