my chinese crested hairless powder-puff and i were hit by a 3/4 ton truck and i am very afriad of this he is coughing erratically..they said collapsed trachea was one of his problems...and now it has worsened he is a service dog..i crying rt now as i am afraid i am going to lose him........any suggestions please let me know i am worried as he has began to wheez..what is this i look it up and most animals have died..? someone please answer me...he stilll has his love and spark for life

Yeah.., Usually the Cough of a Collaspsing Trachea Sounds More Like a Goose Honk... And Also Can Be Confused With Reverse Sneezing...

Glad your maltese was ok.Kennel cough does need to be treated. It can morph into pneumonia, especially in puppies. reverse sneezing is common in Malts and other small breeds but this sound the dog is making is not reverse sneezing.

It's called 'kennel cough' - very common among dogs!

that is kennel cough its not just a cough its dangerous make sure to get medication if it happens again its really bad and contagious

Update on Soba (the maltese in this video). He is thirteen now. He was treated for Kennel Cough back then and has been fine since. He does get the best vet care and this video was originally posted to show to his vet.
We love this little guy so much!
