Her is what I don't understand... Why does it matter if I die? this is just part of life. Flight is dangerous. If it wasn't for people like me, we would ALL be on the ground like rats.. Sorry for the honesty. This is not my nature.

As an ex-hang gliding instructor I got to say one thing. He's lucky he didn't get more altitude and dive like a yard dart and be paralyzed the rest of his life. Stupid, just plain stupid.

Yea. Put it back together and let dad try to kill himself. Crashing these things is not funny. I have. It hurts. $10,000+ in hospital bills I am still paying for. You son is worth more than a giggle you stuipd s$~t.

and am self-taught in numerous realms,

but I had the good sense and judgment

to get professional instruction and save

myself likely horrifying, expensive,

disabling injuries or worse. I treat

hang gliding as a form of aviation -

and attention to safety - FIRST - and

I thought I could teach myself hangliding and after a 20 second flight that was completely out of control I broke an upright but fortunately nothing else! Please do not try to teach yourself it is near impossible I would say. I got my license in 1 week of actual professional training!

As a hang glider pilot of 30 years, I found NOTHING remotely amusing about this video or the morons who "starred" in it. They are Darwin Award material! This is how people die. It may be funny to them now but losing a loved one is never funny and that is where this pair is headed. Over the years, we in the sport, have tried to overcome the early stigma placed on hang gliding by the actions of people like this. These types of videos do our wonderful sport no good.

I hate to say it.... You wont live long enough to enjoy these films!! Heed the warnings in these posts. You, or a member of your family WILL DIE or worse, be Paralysed. How are you going to feel that your son is dead because you were to mean and proud to get professional training???? Just because it looks easy on you tube doesn't mean you can teach youself to fly.

YES!!! i agree with JQOIson53. it's just a shame that it does make our sport look foolish and dangerous. If we could get our old gliders into the hands of the masses and let them all teach themselves (without video to shame the sport) we could raise the SAT scores of our great nation. not trying to be mean or anything, but if your going to post your stupidity what can you expect. you say you broke your COLOR bone once. need I say more?
