My grand father was an itinerant blues man who road the rails between Mississippi and Chicago in the 1920s and 1930s. I'd love to learn to play this style of music, but the prospect of learning an open tuning is daunting.
Start with an open tuning (say D,G,D,G,B,D). You'll notice he is hanging over the 12th fret a lot and using open strings. The melody is only really 4 notes, just copy it by ear. d,b,f,f#
Great old timey sounding instrument true slider!
