@EndOfWill my original comment was also relating to people who see other animals as equal to humans. which imo is ridiculous, because we are ethical creatures and almost all the other animals are not. if they are equal, then either they are forbidden to kill, or we are allowed to kill, because equality also means equal rights etc. we still have a responsibility of not being a cunt to others, animal or human, because we are able to be a cunt (or not)

@EndOfWill i know, and its a good point you're making. As the smartest, ethical and most environment manipulative (and destructive opposable thumbs ftw ) animal we have to a certain degree responsibilities or moral obligations for other living creatures. for most people that responsibility ends when animals have more than four legs (insects etc.) or when they are very dangerous. of course in animistic religions lots of animals do have souls or represent deities, but not in Abrahamic religions.

@speedcoregewalt Well from a moral stand point, the killing of any living thing is often considered to be wrong. Since humans are considered to be the apex species on earth, some feel that we should take it upon ourselves as the most intelligent (and to some, spiritual) race on earth to not kill other creatures for food. Animals are not considered to be as intelligent as humans, and many religious folk believe animals don't have souls. This is what supposedly sets animals apart.

vegitarianism and veganism is only for the bonafide, who have the luxury to choose their diet (not that its bad). animals kill animals, we are animals etc. i mean if we cant kill animals (or humans) then a tiger also should not have the right to chomp down on a antilope
