i feel ungrateful saying this, but i really wish this were translated into English -- i'd love to know what they're saying.

Beside the artificiality of being filmed listening at herself, at the end, this is very touching to see these beautiful eyes so alive, natural, if possible in these conditions. Another vew of Maria Callas, if possible! Rossi Lemeni is also quite interesting and fair in his passionate admiration.

Bravo! Nicola Rossi Lemeni helped Callas obtain her very first engagement in Italy at the Arena di Verona & appears in many of her earlier opera recordings. He played Enrico VIII to her Anna Bolena.
It was a great shock when Callas suddenly died; you could hear all the radio stations in europe broadcasting the news. Nicola died in 1991 in Bloomington, Indiana where he & his wife, the great soprano Virginia Zeani, were professors. Now 84, Zeani continues to teach at her home in Florida.

Bonjour operaholic001,

Est-ce Baudelaire?

Rossi-Lemeni, another larger than life artist and an inspiration to many who followed, no longer with us. R.I.P, Maestro.

Grazie per questi video!!! sono commosso!!!
Many thanks.I remember the BBC News TV announcement as if it was yesterday!Victoria de los Angeles was 'phoned at her Barcelona home by a reporter from Paris in the afternoon."Madam de los Angeles,Callas is dead. What do you have to say?"He heard a gasp, followed by sobbing and her 'phone fell to the floor.Later she replaced the handset without speaking.
