Australia doesn't have a "2 party system". In the House of Reps we have currently 8 parties present with independents, but go further then that, you have 150 men and women trying to represent their electorate, it's not as black and white as Liberal vs Labor and only a minority of discussions are broadcast. Further proof? The Liberal party holds 44 seats, Labor holds 71, it's hardly a "2 party system"

It's not entirely your fault, and you're not alone either, the issue with broadcast networking and simple advertisement is that you have to round to the lowest denominator to reach the largest audience, it's far more effective to say "They bad, we good" then actually explain why, it's one of the negatives of compulsory voting, anyway, you've watched this video so it shows you actually care about educating yourself, read more about the Australian division of power and don't get confused with US's

I think it is given away by the fact that the system is advised to the queen lion by a distant relative, who is a "wallaby" :)

Well, forgive me my ignorance then. I've never really known much about politics, just what I see on TV.

In Israel for example the problem is that you get too much power to the small parties because the big parties aren't that big.. The laws are hard to pass and the small parties choose sides by their interests which represents a small part of society. Great video!

Great explanation, but you conclusion (and premise) is incorrect. I would suggest that anyone that wishes to vote under an AV system familiarize themselves with Arrow's Theorem.
