Yes, I think he could do very well in the equitation ring. We have been gearing him more for the jumpers because he is so athletic, but I think he could excel in the equitation ring as well.

He's never met a fence he didn't like. He has great athleticism and speed so I don't see why not. Plus he loves going out on the trail!

Hi There,

Ian was a hair under 17hh last time I measured him (about 4 months ago). I can stick him this week if you are interested. The rider in this video is 5'6.

With the right rider he could definitely do the USET/WCE type medals and maybe eventually the more hunter-type equitation. Because he is so athletic we have really been gearing him more for the jumper ring and as you can see he is very "game" but with some work in the other direction he could settle enough for the equitation.
