  • hi, I have just upgraded my MBP HD to western digital 750GB blue gate, however I am getting this message on TextEdit page when turning on.. the message title is "LowMemori.." with loads of code etc... any idea? why I am getting this message?

  • @mosh0070 Did you reinstall the operating system after replacing the hard drive? Is your MacBook identical to the one in the video?

  • After ive replaced the HDD how do i install the os, and what do i need to do? can u make a video on that? or just reply to this comment Plz?

  • @farhanix If your MacBook Pro is identical to the 2010 model I used for this video, you already have a copy of Snow Leopard as part of the discs which came with your Mac. If you can't find them, the good news is Snow Leopard retail costs a whole $28.71 from Amazon. I'd love to make a video of a clean installation of Snow Leopard, but like much of YouTube, there are hundreds of videos already done.

To be clear though, your best bet for trouble-free operation is keeping the laptop on a hard surface to allow unrestricted airflow and regularly remove the bottom panel to clean the dust from the heat sync with compressed air. Always back up & you'll be fine.

  • @nOrCaLnerd89 Remember that there is no vetting process for people to write 'horror stories' and post them on the Internet. Everyone who doesn't adhere to best practices of system maintenance will eventually lose all of their data. Some will find themselves desperate for a scapegoat. Since most Mac users love their macs, they inevitably target their upgrade part instead of their lack of a backup. In my professional experience, EVERY HD manufacturer has produced duds...
