The Santa Barbara Mission bells ring at 6AM, Noon, and 6PM each day. And, they always ring the same. We counted the number of bongs.

What is the counter for? The 3 x 3 Angelus pattern is used in most of the world's churches, and pealing (swinging) bells are measured by the length of the peal, not the number of strikes - in this case about thirty seconds.

i stood in front of Santa Barbara Mission, but unfortunately i didn´t hear the bells...

So all could hear to pray the Angelus. The Angelus is a special Marian devotion like the Rosary.
