So is there any other reason that people prefer Melee other than wavedashing?

Melee was all about wavedashing and the characters were so unbalanced.

Brawl is all about dodge spamming...characters could still use more balancing, but it's a HUGE improvement over Melee.

@Westile I don't intend to be confrontational with this post - I'm just trying to inform.

1) Wavedashing is a very SMALL part of what makes melee great. Wavedashing could be completely removed and melee would still be great (better than brawl, in my opinion).

2) Melee is great because of the speed, fluidness, and opportunities for aggression. It's just an amazingly fun game and is incredibly rewarding for those who care to practice.

3) The characters are not any more imbalanced than in brawl.

The character list was totally imbalanced. Bowser, Mewtwo, Ganon, and Jigglypuff were almost unplayable.

And lets not mention the clones (Dr. Mario, Y Link, Pichu, ect).

The characters just weren't unique, and I feel that Brawl changed that.

Don't get me wrong - Brawl has problems too - but I just don't see why fanboys hump the shit out of Melee.

Trying not to be offensive but it actually sounds like you know very little about melee. Puff is one of the best characters in the game - a puff main (Mango) dominated tournaments for 2 years with puff, he's since started playing other characters though. Ganon is also very good, with a Ganon player getting top 5 in a recent large tournament. Also, "clones" play very very differently to their counter-parts. Not a big deal. I recommend you look at the tier list and tournament results.

people need to stop comin on brawl vids an trolling about melee. yeah im a melee player AND a brawl player, you dont have to hate on everyone who plays brawl. cause theres still a very technical edge to brawl as there is melee.

@superbug258 Uhhhh, what..that 'lightweight' is the God tier of this game....Snake IS projectiles, it's not spamming it's using Snake's moves to keep out Metaknight..which is what any good player would do. M2K obviously wasn't too worried about them for whatever reason and he lost. He made it a good match, I don't see how anyone could be disappointed with the results: would watch again!!!!
