Ignorant Landlords UK (Suzy Butler) 1

GMTV story. Calls the tenant a "squatter" despite tenant having tenancy agreement. Landlord took a commercial decision with risks to let out her home. These risks are very well documented and require research. There is a process to go through if you badly choose a tenant, or if tenant experiences change of circumstances and has difficulty meeting the rent. Unlike people with huge mortgages, tenants don't have mortgage rescue schemes to pay their rent. If you need to evict a tenant, there are legal procedures to take via the court. These can take some time, during which, tenant has a legal right to remain in the property and you can't take. The landlord can only regain possession after fulfilling all parts of the legal process. If you don't like the way it is, then perhaps you should not rent out your home/homes and later try to "demonise" the tenant via the press/TV news.

@ijiva Get your facts straight. Carmen Nobre was a TENANT, not a squatter. Ms. Butler did not give the correct 2 months notice. Ms. Butler wanted the tenant out after the first 2 months of a 6 month tenancy. Suzy Butler tried to impose a £15 a day "penalty", which is unenforceable Also Suzy Butler was not living in a tent, that was made up. Suzy chose to bully the tenant, by making up a story and harrassing her with press & GMTV arriving at the doorstep etc. in order to shame her into leaving.

ms butler should be very carfull.........tenents have rights.....and landlords taken to court for ileagle eviction or harrassment end up paying out alot of money....

my parents owned rental properties when i was a younger and trust me, i will NEVER be a rental owner and i dont let ANYONE stay with me at all. i saw numerous abuses of my parents properties. rotten floors from filthy living conditions and squatters in one rental for 4 months and no rent! Damn them all and i feel for this poor lady and he son!
