Never make the mistake of thinking that a because someone is a criminal it makes them stupid... there are plenty of smart ones out there, and they don't have any more interest in getting killed (or getting into a gunfight) than you do. 99 percent of them, once realizing you are armed and prepared to kill them, are going to turn tail, run, and make for your hyper liberal neighbor that has a anti gun sign in his front yard :)

People in the UK may not know what that sound is, but i gaurentee 99% of Americans do. That being said, I would much rather already have my gun loaded and give a verbal warning. If there is someone in your house i would prefer them not know i was waiting for them until my gun was pointed to their chest. The sound of racking a gun will force them to make one of two decisions. A Run. B get ready for a gun fight. I would prefer option C In which they think, Oh shit someone just shot me in the face

why not just a 44?

@testy462 You're absolutely right! Criminals robbing a home are doing it because they believe the instant rewards outweigh the risk. The sound of a shotgun being racked notifies them that their personal risk has increased. The result: the vast majority of criminals will flee. It's all simple psychology.

@2ndamendrights I like the video. the only problem is who doesn’t know what a shotgun cycle sounds like, Everybody knows that sound. It's on t.v in video games and in music. Unless your Amish you know the sound. If someone breaks in your house to kill you nothing will make them run away. If someone breaks in your house for a tv and hears the gun they will run. Most home break ins are petty crimes and they are unarmed.

Machetes and knives are very underrated for home defense.

the sawed off or short barreled shotgun 12 gauge with an extended mag is the best home DEFENSE gun. first of all if your smart they wont be able to get in unless it means breaking a window or kicking open a door. also cheaper dead bolts can be push picked these days. rounding a chamber is the scariest sound to be on the hurt side of it. for example outside a door, barricade, or window. having a loaded weapon is dangerous and mistakes are made. my rule is never load if not intending on shooting

@testy462 their cowards.. i know from experience

Why my bond arms derringer is used to clear my house. 000 buck 5 pellet .410 shotgun shell works just fine in a home.
@cornishprivateer,your video is so informative I wish it were longer. thank you
I was so happy when I heard someone finally adressing this shotgun cycle myth....that the threat is going to run away just hearing the sound bla bla bla and which is just a lie its so true and I always knew it

@134paintball431 Whichever one I have at hand that will go bang when I pull the trigger ;-) I like 9mm CZ-75’s and Zastava CZ-99’s.

@cornishprivateer I am wondering if you like cz-75's which I do as well what do you think about sig sauers. Since their both high quality all steel guns I am just wondering what do you think makes them better or worse or is it simply personal preference?

@ChadronMike I am happy with CZ's or Sig's both good guns... A CZ-75 is more comfortable for me though!!
