The Buxton Spa Express with 45407 & 44871

Heading up to the North to capture a brief glimpse of the Buxton Spa Express which ran on November 5th hauled by Black 5s 45407 & 44871. Two main shots were taken of the run in the Peak District in Derbyshire.

At Bibbington summit just by Dove Holes we see the duo steadily climbing the very last yards to the summit nearing Buxton their final outward destination. The second and last scene captures the pair departing Great Rocks and passing by what remains of Peak Forest station which the building can be seen to the right of the screen when zoomed out. The line was once part of the Midland Main Line from Derby to Manchester.
