I hope people realize this intro is explaining the history of the land, not hyrule....yet. Then when he says it was entrusted to us, he means they came to this new land after the events of the phantom hourglass, the natives probably entrusted them to do the right thing, and so the new hyrule was constructed, after this" took place. so that would have to mean link and tetra/zelda now have descendants in this new land.

this seems to happen far away from hyruke, since the lack of the hero of time in a green tunic, but well, i dont expect much from a handheld console, eventhough a zelda game is never unwelcome.
