  • Really enjoy watching these trailors.

I think with season 2 the cracks were beginning to show and episodes like this and Monster From outer Space became the staple of the final 2 seasons - season 4 I believe doesn't even have any female guest stars!

Having said that season 2 had some great stories.

  • @doctorlinden I agree with most of what you say, but The Cyborg is one of the best pieces of sci-fi TV ever written and doesn't belong in the same category as the "Monster-of-the-Week" episodes such as "Monster from Outer Space," "Monster from the Inferno," "The Monster's Web," and other titles that may or may not include the word "monster."

  • @TooleMan87 I am waiting for the release of season 2 on DVD having now watched most of season 1. I didn't mean to lump this ep in with monster of the week types, I was going off what 65kowalski said.

Do you have any knowledge as to why the series went downhill in the eyes of many? Did they run out of ideas? Did IA only like monster stories? Did they change the scope of the series for a younger audience?

  • @doctorlinden ABC probably wanted to attract a younger audience away from Disney and Lassie, the competition on Sunday nights in the mid-60's. They were footing the bill for the production of Voyage, at least in part, so they got what they wanted. That's my theory, anyway

  • 0:08 That guy played King Tut on Batman.

  • Terrorists abounded in this series, way ahead of its time heheh. This episode is totally implausible but still entertaining

  • @joshweiss01 At least we are young enough that 3" reels were an option! I had a green RCA recorder and taped the same stuff as you. Check out my Martin Luther King tribute on YouTube. I recorded all the audio on the RCA as it happened.

  • @TooleMan87 Yes, you're showing your age. I also recorded on 3 inch reels episodes of Man from UNCLE. Taped theme music as well. Used a Sony TC900 portable with the mic on the speaker!

  • @65kowalski Victor Buono keeps it entertaining. The mistake they made in editing this promo is to show Crane shooting Nelson in the face and then the cut to the cyborg destroyed on the deck. They never should have showed the destroyed cyborg. Imagine how anxious viewers would have been to see that one!

  • Star Trek ripped off lots of ideas from Voyage and made them more sophisticated....but I like Voayge more
