This is one of the first folk songs I ever had the pleasure of learning. I am reminded when I sing it of the people I grew up with in Penzance, Cornwall, where I spent a brief time as a teenager... so this goes out to them, ... and my dad, who struggled to keep me safe and warm... with love and thanks. I heard the original of this for the first time the other day - Tim Hart and Maddy Prior...

  • Altogether grand. I know nothing about pitch, although I did see Maradonna playing on the Lansdowne Road pitch in 1979 - he was very, very young, as was I. Happy days. Amazing voice.

  • LOL, yeah, Maradona = amazing player! ;-)

Thank you! If I could sing as well as the tip of his boot I'd be laughing :D Well, I am laughing, sort of, but... there's no comparison on the talent side heheh.

  • oh by the way. its good to be home

  • Oooo addendum, never been to Glastonbury either more's the pity, been to Blackbush Aerodrome in 1978 (I think) Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and Joan Armatrading :-)

    Nice to see you again.

  • OMG. You do do extras (i'll explain). email me. I love this. you know or have seen maddie prior or steeleye live?

you sound like a glastonbury visitor too.

    Help me plz. be nice.

    Dug, Wolfie.

  • Hi dug, :D

Well, sorry to disappoint you but I have never seen Maddie Prior or Steeleye live, they were a little before my time of seeing live things... As I explained in my description, the other night is the very first time I have actually seen this song, on youtube! Before that it was like a Chinese whisper! ;-) The harmony truly is just my own playing around. Because the melody used to be too low for me... I knew nothing about pitch.
