Propaganda is the transfer of information,ideas or rumors to purposely help or harm a person, and governments use such tactics to manipulate people'sthoughts and opinions. The United States spends approximately $4 billion per yearfor propaganda efforts in countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan, but now a newdefense bill is hoping to increase the budget to implement propaganda inAmerica. Lucy Steigerwald, associate editor for Reason Magazine, joins us withher thoughts on the issue.
