www.dc3transcon.com has the details of this amazing trip. We finally made it! Here my dad and I are landing at Paine Field in Everett, Washington. NY to Washington in 20 hours over a 5 day period. What a blast.

  • It would be interesting to learn about the pilot's background. He looks like an old war veteran

  • @sinfuldavy0 There's a nice write up on him on AvWeb. bit ly/merrillwien

  • Seatbelts?

  • @hiddencharges This airplane, like many older aircraft didn't have shoulder harnesses.

  • why is it the last flight of a beautiful aircraft like this

  • @xxpetey454xx We were just delivering the airplane from New York to Everett, Washington. So our job was done, unfortunately.

  • This is such a good video. Really shows how much input is coming from pilot. Great video!

  • Seems that on the approach you're bouth "outside", shoudn't Dad be outside and you inside...?

  • Nice Job Guy's...Wish i was with You... Best regards from the UK..

  • @fly4fun

lol! Seal belt put on is a must. :) Aviation safety.*

  • How I wish I was on that flight, love the sound of the DC-3 engine. It's part of History.

  • @TalksWithDirt Thanks for your thoughts. I agree 100%. Some aircraft reached a peak of near perfection decades ago, and the DC-3 is one of them. I would include the Boeing 747 in that category, in a different scale, of course. The Boeing B-29 comes to mind, too---once the engine cooling problems were generally resolved.

  • @bboucharde Every time I see a DC-3 on approach or a 737-400+ they two aircraft remind me of the other. If I had a few tens of millions to throw around I'd develop a DC-3 sized aircraft, in tail dragger config, with a pressurized cabin but powered by turbofans. A jet version of the DC-3 made to do the same missions these old birds are still doing. In the 90's I was impressed that there were so many DC-3's still flying, and I even more amazed they still are. Wonderful.

  • @TalksWithDirt Good comment.....The most iconic aircraft in aviation history has just landed in daylight.....and, "What type of aircraft is that?"......uh.....Think real hard!

  • The tower did not know it was a DC-3. Get the rope ....

  • the tittle of this video is the last landing does that mean that you sold the aircraft or what? because i work at a museum at paine field and we just purchased a DC-3 whats the status of this aircraft?
