Sweet camera! Does the middle focus knob by chance have a finer gear ratio than the front one, or is it just there since it's a two-stage focusing rail? I was thinking that would be a good feature since focus on real wide lenses is so touchy.

Same gear ratio. For easy wide angle work they make another body, the 45SU or the 45S. Focus is easy because the screen is bright.
