  • Ligeti was a man who REALLY knew how to write. What wonderful colors, textures, and timbres. Very interesting video! Does anyone know where the footage came from? Is this original stuff from tracerprod? Either way, very nicely done!

  • Yes, this is entirely original footage of mine. All my videos are original works.

  • very beautiful! I love it! Congrats...and keep up the great work!

  • Thanks very much.

  • In all seriousness, this is a pretty well executed short film, has a nice Bergmanian angst to it, I'll have to keep an eye out for your latest.

  • As soon as I get some tapes back from a buddy at work, I will be posting some of my newer monologues and such. They are even stranger than what you've seen.

  • What do you consider music? I don't know who said it but the quote is, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." To me music is sound that evokes an emotion, so what music is can differ from person to person. I personally wouldn't say that something isn't music because I don't understand it which doesn't make me stupid. I don't understand French but I don't say it isn't a language.

  • And you're an idiot

  • @vixovoderimus

    It must convey an idea.

Not all music has to be beautiful anyway. I wouldn't call this beautiful but it's definitely music.

  • This music is making me look over my shoulder in a totally lit room. FML.

  • @bbrriiaann9922 bravo!!!

  • t'häh, doesn't matter if I'm the only one, but I like the disturbing part of this video :) I mean it does interpret the music in a kind of extreme way, but the surrealistic style rules

  • I would say just the opposite, that music, need not evoke emotions but needs an invocation of emotion to create it.

  • as for the video, i'm not to fond of it. good ol' Gorgy though eh?

  • I would also add texture and dynamics to that list. That being said, I wouldn't refer to a random computer generated sequence of tones which was absolute in key and rythym as music, wheras such a composition would be technically regarded as a piece of music. It must have something besides the aforementioned attributes and that is soul, emotion, imprinted consciousness or whatsoever one chooses to name it. I know forthright the actual definition from a dictionary, but to me it lacks completion

  • The goal of music is to transport the listener to some place of the artists choosing , to induce feelings and to cause thoughts to arise. One doesen't have to like it but there it is.
