@TheNewVibe Their new material is equally strong but differently focused, different parts of a spectrum. 'Standards' is among my favourites for its cohesive and iconic sound. 'It's All Around You' is more tempered and mature and is one of their most beautiful releases once you crack the shell. 'Beacons of Ancestorship' is fresh and joy-infused reinvention that show them to be as alive and relevant as ever. It practically parodies their oeveur and place in the rock world at times.
Great band.

I've never really listened to tortoise, but that was awesome. I just bought tickets to their show on the 20th.

Simply brilliant...

This reminds me a lot of that Boards of Canada video, except much, much cooler.

This is actually not THAT old, its sort of the middle, its from the last album of their heyday Standards. The two best ones are directly before, TNT and Millions Now Living Will Never Die. Their real early stuff (Self Titled) is also fucking amazing. But yes their old stuff is better.

what a unique experience that was :)
this is an older song, right? i like their older stuff better.

This is one of my favorite Tortoise songs!
