@davidsonlou that was a custom made gibson made for ray. Pete wade said it had about as much soul or sound as a buzzard. My dad is the one who came up with the intro to this tune as well as played n the band and was his manager for 15 years. Then later became his agent as well as representing goerge jones and tammy wynette etc etc.

Someone PLEASE tell what model acoustic Ray is playing?! Very thin profile..I didn't think that type was produced until much later. It does have a signal cord coming out the bottom....a little help?

You are right. He is the national treasure of country music. I wrote to the Kennecdy center to tell them they should honor him! Why don't you all write them too! I would love to see him honored as he should be!
