@utgardloki2 You know when I was in high school, my freshman year (2002-2003) was filled with kids who wrote "Listen to Bob Marley" on walls. If I could go back, I would be sure to erase that and write "Listen to Warren Zevon". It's unfortunate that the only song of his that I knew back then was "Werewolves of London". Which itself is a fucking great song, but there is so much more to Warren Zevon than that song. Kids, listen to Warren Zevon. If you heard one reggae song, you've heard them all.

This is Warren at his cynical best. It's also the best version I've heard. I've had the pleasure to see him live a couple of times. I'm going to, am, missing his take on life.
Enjoy every sandwich, indeed.

I like the live versions of this song that were performed when he was in his 40s. His voice is more strained, which really adds to the sad-but-hopeful tone of the song IMO.

The beginning of the song is brilliant in this version!

Anybody that can meaningly incorporate Brucellosis into a rock song is a genius. But then, we're talking about Warren Zevon.....
