Although Nat had the first major hit with "Walking My Baby Back Home" recorded Sep. 4, 1951, the song goes back to 1930 and was composed by Roy Turk and Fred Ahlert. Several recordings of it were made in the interim until Nat hit with his, and Johnny Ray followed with a great cover a few months after Nat's version. Billy May is responsible for the original arrangement, and this song was one that Nat chose to re-record in 1961 for the benefit of stereo.

Actrually,the song was recorded about 1953-54 with the Billy May Orchestra.
