Tomasz Stanko Quintet featuring Chris Potter NSJ 2011

North Sea Jazz 2011:
Stanko is an idiosyncratic jazz man. At a young age Stanko formed the Jazz Darings, considered by many to be one of the earliest free-jazz groups, and he later played for many years with pianist Krzysztof Komeda. It was there, he says, that he learned all about harmony and the structure of music. The Lee Konitz Quintet has a true all-star lineup of tenor saxophonist Chris Potter, Craig Taborn (keyboards), Thomas Morgan (bass) and Jim Black (drums).
