  • When he said he chose to sing "I Couldn't Live Without You For a Day", because the title is "true for the public", I smiled. He is such a sweet guy. :) I love him for that. He really adores his fans, and he obviously loves to please them. He knows a performance is going well if the public's happy. :)

  • @Beth29252 He did a great job handling that fall. At least he didn't break a leg (literally! xD). Good thing Teresa Stratas was right beside him as soon as he tripped. I don't think he would want to talk about it, though; I'm sure he was embarassed. I would be, too.

  • Sweet interview, with interesting insight and great questions, and a beautiful performance. If I were an audience member back then and I asked a question, I would ask did he have any painful falls on stage. My guess is that he would talk about the Met production of Pagliacci when he tripped on a chair during the finale, but then again he might not. Magnificent performance in relation to that though, and a great recovery.

  • @31operafan He's my grandpa.

  • I'm glad he doesn't have a fear of heights. He probably would've panicked big time while holding onto a rope 30 feet above the ground. I don't think he's afraid of much. Pavarotti's afraid of a few things, however: snakes, flying and elevators. The last two are ironic, since he was almost always in planes and elevators in between performances. He's just scared that the plane or elevator will stop working.

  • @blueisawesome0529 Yeah, but he's still doing great! :) There's no sign of him stopping yet! :)

  • The rope was 30 feet high?! Holy crap. I would be scared, too. O.O

  • Notice when he sings in English he handles the dipthongs properly - something Frank Sinatra never learned. Also he has pretty good mic technique. Many classical singers are lost when they hold a mic but Domingo moves it like a true pop singer.

    No dummy he.

  • Very nice!!

  • XD His reaction to "I was wondering if you have any agreement with your wife the night before to.." was priceless. I loved the look on his face.
