Working America is now hiring and training accomplished, experienced, issue-driven canvassers, field managers and canvass directors to work in outreach field teams. We are hiring new and experienced activists with paid training.
This is a great opportunity for those of you who poured your heart and soul into the November elections and are now looking for a way to continue to fight to take our country back from the political forces that favor the wealthy and corporate special interests over America's well-being.

I had an interview today with Nate from the state Wisconsin AFL-CIO for Working America. He never show'd up and I waited 40 minutes. I had a phone interview with the Washington DC, AFL-CIO for a union organizer position with a Carolyn two weeks ago and she was very confrontational. With the private sector unions having union membership as low as 1901, maybe these intellectual dinosaurs need to be replaced.

@litoariel What I knew of working america is that it just didn't stand for workers' rights-- a lot of organizations can claim this, WA if you go on their website have a well defined political platfrom outlining precisely what they are calling for, it is political agenda. When you just tell people "You are for Worker's Rights", that's very vague and is a half-truth, it's like lying, and when considering WA as a workers movement it is fake. You don't sign a form to join a real movement

@litoariel Personally, I outta the blue quit. Everyone I talked to in their homes thought they were signing a petition, and I followed the script to a "T". Whenever someone asked me if they were signing a petition, I told them they were not, that they were signing to become members of an organization, then they weren't interested. I just didn't find it to be ethical to sign-up people who were unaware of what they were signing-up for and what the organization stood for, so I quit.

@litoariel I worked there too in the the Spring, I could just tell it wasn't going to go anywhere, that was before they had the $60 a day quote. They said at that time they were going to figure out the kinks to get people to give $60. If they let go 15 people in a week evidently they haven't been able to, the reason is that people in Florida don't have $60 to give to a movement that doesn't really offer any tangible service.

I applied in Michigan but am a little concerned that it is only a temporary situation. Does anyone know if this is true?
