Shadow of the colossus is indeed a prequel. fumito ueda already stated that recently, and the horned baby is not ICO but wander, ICO is a descendant of wander. look up. updates.

Though the ending shows a boy with horns being born, it's not revealed whether or not it's Ico. Have you ever seen the early Nico trailer? It showed several characters with horns fighting Colossi. I think it would be interesting if the series featured several horned characters in a later game (possibly the games' protagonists working in a group).

I've actually read somewhere that SOTC is a prequel to Ico. Anyways, it's not a sequel because the events take place before not after Ico.

"Somewhere"? Hardly solid evidence there, sorry. There's nothing in the game that says whether it takes place before or after ICO, or whether the plot directly relates to ICO's. Everyone who tells you otherwise is just speculating.

@eightySeventh well at the end are hero (wanderer) because a horned baby for little to no reason and in ico you play as a horned boy , coincidence? i think the boy in ico is the grown baby in shadow of the colossus

@Louis43thebeastmast Maybe it's something that could be explained in a future Team ICO game? I would need that before I could say with any certainty that Ico and Wander are the same character, or that Shadow of the Colossus was a prequel to ICO.
