This sounds EXACTLY like a lateral-cut record being played on a machine with the sound box positioned to play vertical-cut records. If that's the case, that is why the sound is muffled, and also you are inflicting SERIOUS GROOVE DAMAGE on that disc! When that brand of machine is in good working order and is played correctly, the sound is LOUD and VERY CLEAR, which it obviously is not in this video.
