Wouldn't the Leidenfrost effect temporarily protect whatever extremity of yours that accidentally comes into contact with liquid nitrogen?
-
Now let me show you a smart way to make ice cream
Smart way:
1:Grab a dollar
2:go to the store and buy
3:eat
Dumbass way:
1:Do the crap in this video with liquid nitrogen
2:Make messy smoke and cream all around the table
3:Clean it up

@jessedog8091 No, the liquid nitrogen boils away and the temperature at the end is roughly the same as regular ice cream, assuming you don't put too much ln2 in. (You can tell when it's starting to get to the right temperature by listening to how hard the mixer is working, so over-doing it is easy to avoid.)
But to be safe, you should check the ending temperature with a thermometer to make sure it's no colder than -20°F (that's the coldest that consumer "deep chest" freezers get).

Wow I'm pretty sure that would kill you

@crmeehan24 Hehe well, liquid nitrogen by *itself* would be pretty bad, yes. But ice cream made this way? Perfectly fine. In fact, there're a couple of ice cream stores in the US that make ice cream on demand this way!

liquid nitrogen is edible ? ok ...

@Bjo15 No, it's not edible—it'd freeze your mouth! But it boils away while making the ice cream.
