American music legends Don & Dewey caught backstage at Jack's Sugar Shack,
a now-defunct Hollywood nightspot, in the walk-in freezer, stompin' on a blues improv with: fellow legend Gashouse Dave on Zippo lighter percussion, Lightnin' Willie - Dobro and vocals, and an excellent younger fiddler (can anybody ID him?). In dazzling purple suits, it's: Don "Sugarcane" Harris and Dewey Terry. They don't make 'em like this anymore.
RIP GRANDPA DEWEY

I waited years to see Sugarcane...Don and Dewey were doing a show in SF, and the next day they did an in store performance at Village Music in Mill Valley, CA. None other than Ry Cooder on guitar hiding in the background ! Freaking amazing, about 30 people in the store. Sugarcane signed all my LPs and asked me to send him a cassette copy of Pure Food and Drug Act which he didn't even have a copy of. Wow.

Hard to find is right! The only other live footage I have seen is of John Mayall's USA Union band doing "My Pretty Girl." And this is the only live footage I have seen of Dewey Terry, too. Excellent find!
