Sherman Alexie on 9/11

I recorded poet, novelist and filmmaker Sherman Alexie at Rutgers University in Newark only a few weeks after September 11, 2001. With humor and fearless candor, Alexie spoke incisively of the broader implications of the tragic event and its still fresh aftermath.

Those the thoughts that I had too.. Israel, Ireland, Scotland, England have all had terroristic acts that have blown up people and buildings and airports. The bombing of the Twin Towers was a horrible act, but it is not unique in the world, sadly.

He says our national anthem, I am an Omaha patriot and consider myself a citizen of the Omaha nation, not an Amerikkkan. Very True, how easy we forget about alot of what Mr. Alexie has said here...Because we are so self-absorbed in our pity little minds...and forget about the rest of the world..or our very own close family members....Scarey! We all need to wake-up, stop sleeping and become more AWARE!
