What Zak and Nick need to understand is that there is no test run. Letting a poser inventor come on the live special to show off his obviously fake parabot containment chamber was a terrible idea. I am aware that they had no knowledge of it at the time, but try testing new equipment before you use it. Meaning next time, use the parabot or any equipment on a smaller scale haunted hotspot, so you know it works before putting it out for thousands to see.

He explained the situation and Zak is like, "Okay, I got it" but he keeps on going with the explanation, which takes him deeper into the lie category. Maybe if he shut up he'd be more believable.

The clown that threw the meter isn't part of the team, he was asked to come in and help out - they weren't to know he was a tool that was out to screw the whole thing up for his own benefit.
When Zak confronts him, he's nervous and talks too much. They seen right through him, and left him standing there - no handshake or anything.

Charging into it? Is that what you call it? TAPS doesn't even stay around past 2 am usually. The Ghost Adventures crew is known for staying locked in a location the entire night and they don't leave until the sun comes up. TAPS is cool but Ghost Adventures has them beat in terms of balls. Sorry.
