  • Awesome. But even from a guy who is new to trying this stuff, the base and the tri arm stand look precarious at best.

  • The quest for "ultra light weight" is not worth jeapordizing your health. purchase a metal that is made for heating and approriate for human consumption after heated. I think you can handle carrying the extra 8 ounces.

  • nalgene bottle. Further more, fiber glass wicking although yes it keeps your hands from burning off IS NOT SAFE TO USE AND HANDLE. Not only do glass particles come off of the wicking when you heat it, there is some debate as to whether or not it is a cancer causing material.

  • Ok so although some of your pot ideas are very clever, and i dont detract at all from your thought out designs, I do have to say that health wise i would never in a million years suggest using any of these pot ideas. First, the grade aluminumn used in soda and beer cans is NOT suitable for cooking or consuming hot liquids out of. • I would stay away from cooking in bare aluminum, or even coated aluminum for that matter. Aluminum is very toxic to the human body and has been linked to several diseases. A stainless cup might be heavier but it's made of almost all natural ingredients found in most multivitamins (iron, chromium, etc).

  • @reachoutandtouchme - I think he used a side opening can opener that pries the top off.

  • Have you done any testing on boil time between a fiberglass wrapped can and one that is not? Does the fiberglass wrap insulate the can from the flame - losing thermal conduction? I understand it is there as a pot holder.

  • @willsk8zero They sell the 4 oz bottles at REI. I just bought one yesterday
