  • Excellent performance of this song! I'm curious though........ I had a video up here on youtube of me performing this song on acoustic guitar with a girl singer.... and it got deleted due to copyright infringement.

I wonder why there's like 1000 other videos of this song on here and they're not getting pulled.

Once again... your band kicks ass! : )

  • Yes, friends have warned me about cover tunes getting bumped because of "copyright infringement". But the copyright holder (not the band) has to complain to YouTube. Like any stupid law, it gets enforced arbitrarily. The video was shot at a bar that pays ASCAP license fees for their live music entertainment, so I don't see why this wouldn't be legal, unless I was selling my videos, which I'm not...

    Thanks for the nice comments.

  • Theres a lot to live up to with this song. I still think that the Meat Loaf version is better but I'm really quite hard to please when it comes to ML.

You guys did a damned good job with this song though, like other people said - let you female vocalist sing the chorus by herself. Otherwise - Well done!

  • "let you female vocalist sing the chorus by herself."

I told her that she needs to sing that part alone, but she wants me to just back off in the mix. So we've been trying that. Thanks for the comment.

  • Thanks Mike.

If you have a band, let's get posting some videos. I spend lots of time on YouTube watching classic greats like Tull or Zappa, and I like to watch newer stuff to see what's out there. Lots of cool music going on. But I also love watching musicians' home videos (like mine) - it's fun as hell. So let's get posting some more music.

    Good rockin' tonight.

    Rick

  • Let your female vocalist do the chorus by herself. I think it it will sound a lot better. Otherwise really good.

  • I see what you mean - Krystal's melody line is getting drowned out by my lower harmony. It's actually supposed to be more than a 2 part harmony there. This video is the first time that we're hearing what it sounds like out front - we never recorded this song before, and we've been doing it for about 5 years.

Fun song! It has a zillion chords and a ton of words to remember. Todd Rundgren played guitar on the original Meatloaf version.

    Thanks for the constructive critique.

    Rick

  • Classic rock songs over 8 minutes long should never be played at dances, no matter how catchy they are. I would rather they stay cult classics. On an unrelated note, good job on the cover, guys!

  • Awesome job loved it!

  • excellent music!!!! sharing this out

  • Great cover, possibly the best I've seen on YouTube - there are very few decent Meat Loaf covers. If you go to my profile there's a link to my blog where I reviewed the new Meat Loaf CD Hang Cool Teddy Bear for those interested.
