  • Hi, i really love your bird but i need a bit of advice. We got scammed on the internet over £870 for a parrot and no bird so were going to get an amazon tomorro just like yours! From a pet shop thos time but there are two ones cheely and bites my finger really hard then screams at me hes an amazon too and another one who is very shie and only licked my finger gently which one should i go for???

  • @pinkdreamer1000 It really depends on a lot of things. How old are these birds?

All birds bite at some point either you or someone else.

You have to gain trust and develop a relationship with the bird.

The younger the bird is the better chance you have at re-homing it.

I would go with the female bird, just because when they sexually mature they are not as prone to becoming really unmanageable.

Easier to make friends with the shy one

  • @sunkissedbeach thanks for the advice! haha i got an african grey parrot. shes 17 weeks and i have tamed her very well within4 days! im so proud of myself. shes a female baby who cant talk yet! she was very shy when she came though :)

  • @pinkdreamer1000

How exciting for you Make sure you learn as much as you can on African Grey Parrots. Go to the website africangreys . com ( excellent info) Also youtube videos of other birds talking will help her. Africans don't talk until 12 to 18 months old as they are slower to start than other parrots.

Never feed: Avocado, Chocolate, Tomato leaves, vines, stems, Coffee, soda, alcohol, Raw, dry beans (cooked only Pits or seeds of fruits, Rhubarb, salt, fat, Mushrooms, Peanuts.

  • Shake, you so much, Audi is a female and she is three years old.

It makes a huge difference spending a lot of time with your bird and not rushing handling them.

I waiting a couple of months before I even attempted to touch her. I built up a trust and sang and danced my head off in front of her to gain her trust.

I play youtube videos for her as she loves that.

Congrats on your bird and best of luck.

She is a love and a very well behaved bird.

  • Thank you and Audi thanks you for watching her videos.
