I was also at this show. Since I was not yet 21, I had to remain downstairs on the floor. I parked myself on the right side, close to the front and wound up being directly under Eddie when he jumped off the balcony. He was wearing combat boots that left a 6 inch bruise on my chest for about a week.
Pearl Jam has been my favorite band since I was 9 years old. I've seen them live, 18 times. Unfortunately, none of those 18 shows were ever in a small venue like the Troc. Being from Philly, the Troc has always been one of my favorite venues. It's upsetting to me, to know that I will never get the chance to see them in a small venue. I've seen Eddie play a solo show in a small theater, but that's not the same. Seeing PJ in a small place is unfortunately a dream of mine, that will never come true
I was at the show & still have the stub. 1st time seeing this vid, just wish whole show was on YouTube. I sat front & center in the balcony. I shook Ed's hand and talked to him a few seconds when he shimmied around the balcony. I knew a guy w/ a camcorder was right next to me and filmed us. Bummed it turned out too dark to see. I was with a record store rep friend that had backstage passes but PJ split too quick. They were psyched to get to NY for SNL show. Great times, Great Show!
I was at this show. Though the quality of this video may not be the best, it was a defining moment in rock history and probably the last time Pearl Jam played in small clubs. The alt scene blew right open around this time.
now their dressing rooms are probably the size of the troc
