UW apparently is Martin Barre's favourite Tull album. I can see why.
-
not the best of Tull.
I miss the early 70's....

I thought it was too: But the uploader took the audio from the "Live At Hammersmith 1984" CD and dubbed it onto this video.

@AragornIsStrider Totally. It's taken me a while to really appreciate UnderWraps, but if you listen to it carefully it is full of awesomeness that takes a patience for Tull that many fundy Tull fans lack, as I was one. In hindsight, it mixes two of my favorite things... Tull, and '80s music... It's taken too long for me to catch onto this album. Radio Free Moscow... love that song :D

Thanks! I do so love playing the flute to Tull. I enjoy Under Wraps too. Another great track is Saboteur, and again it's one of those that Tull fans see as the bottom barrel.

i tried to find the song you just suggested but i can't find it...i love tull and am just getting into underwraps...if i recall from your name you have some great flute covers

Agreed in all respects. One of the most underrated tracks on UW in my opinion is Automotive Engineering, which is thought by many Tull fans to be the worst of the worst. But listen to it a few times and you're hooked! They really put a lot of work into that album.

SCREW YOU GUYS UNDER WRAPS KICS ASS...WHO DOESN"T LOVE ESpIONAGE FICTION? GREAT SYNC FOR LAST 2 minutes!!!
HOLY SHIT this song is AWESOME live. I had no idea.
I only just got into Tull, but Under Wraps has really grown to be among my Top 5 of their albums. It's vastly underrated.
I really don't understand why it's not more well-loved, or sold better than it did. Tull was no different from Genesis, Rush, Yes, or countless other bands who updated their sound.
I don't know, maybe because I'm a child of the 80's and love electronic music I'm not as biased...Hah...I was 4 years old in '1984...

I agree, much underrated.
I have tons of promo collectables for this album.
It is my fathers favorite Tull album. UW2

I think this is the studio version we're hearing here. It sounds like we're hearing more than one Ian singing in some places, and that sounds like a drum machine.

This is live at Hammarsmith 1984. Tull toured with an electronic drum set & an acoustic set. This indeed live--NOT the studio version.

This sounds so close to the studio version.
