Oxfam ambassador Kristin Davis had just returned from the Horn of Africa where she saw hundreds of thousands of families in desperate need of food and water.

Kristin describes her experience of visiting the Dadaab in Kenya where she met the women and children affected by the devastating drought. "I've really never seen anything like it."

People are fleeing drought and conflict in Somalia and ending up in Dadaab, which is currently the world's largest refugee complex and is hugely overcrowded.

Oxfam's response to the drought includes programs in Somaliland, Ethiopia and Kenya with a mixture of emergency aid, long-term development and prevention, and advocacy to address the root causes of chronic drought.
