This guitar sounds just like mine. and looks just like it...only i think mine is a 62 reissue from 1995. I thought the Hot Rod had a double bottom pup.
@carvin112 Its also got a nitrocellulos finish for greater tone a flatter neck radius and satin neck for improved playability and the second tone knob is wired to the bridge for more tonal options.
i have this guitar, but in GREEN. i love the thick neck and how comfortable the contours fit to my body. i didnt like the bridge pup too much, so i put a sd hot rail, and it wails. i love it.
The hotrod '62 has a larger neck radius, larger neck profile, larger frets, stock 5 way switch, reverse wound middle pickup and I think that's about all that's different. You should check Fender's website.
ibanez has the smallest necks, RG models with wizard necks are tiny tiny. fenders and gibsons tend to have fatty necks, fender can throw you off however because they have many different neck models, most of the vintage or reissue guitars will have deep necks.
@DallasVocals What is a double bottom pup?

A great guitar like this needs to be played thru a better amp. A good choice is the new Vox AC15C1.
