@GothN00b Unless you get into Beta (not everyone does), you can either:

a) Subscribe now to the full game ($10 - $15 a month, depending on whether they're running a special at the moment)

or

b) Wait until LotRO adds a Free to Play option this fall (I'm guessing it will be sometime in October). It's a great game, and well wroth the subscription, but trying out the Free to Play first is probably a good idea; after all, not everyone enjoys the same games.

Im a hunter lvl 36 but lotro got fucked up when i got a new comp (vista) i wish i cud just go back to windows xp , vista is =probs probs probs-.-'

pretty much every MMO that comes out will be compared to Wow just like how whenever a shooter game comes out it gets compared to Call of Duty

Every MMORPG that comes out after WoW is going to be compared to WoW. You can't have a MMO that is completely different from another, be it WoW or Aion, or whatever.

@luxo444 Well, sort of. It's very similar to another game by the Turbine (makes of LotrO) : Asheron's Call 2 - which came out well before WoW.

WoW did almost nothing new. Its UI, questing style, combat style, etc. were all taken from other previous MMOs. Due to WoW being accessible to most players (even on lower-end computers), and Blizzard's popularity, WoW became so successful that many a lot of people credit it with "inventing" aspects of MMOs that it simply borrowed and streamlined.
