I love how Steve just laughs at the situation, whereas the majority of people giving keynotes would be shitting themselves if this happened :)

About the black turtleneck: In the biography by Walter Isaacson, Steve says "This is what I wear." The Steve Jobs uniform. He wore that, and only that, every day of the week. I was in the army for two years, and a uniform makes everything so easy. "What am I going to wear today? Ah, the uniform."

He was an outstanding person, but you just knew this was not a person you would like as your enemy. I LOVE the products and services his company makes, and I will never use anything else, but this is not a man I would want as my boss or near me at all. Power like that scares me.

I saw Steve twice in Paris, at the Palais des Congrès, that's at the end of avenue de la Grande Armée. The third time he was *there*, we saw him at the expo at the other side of the city at Porte de Versailles where the Apple Expo was at the time, but he was so thin and frail Phil Schiller had to do the keynote. There was something about Steve. He had charisma in spades and he knew exactly how to present new products. He had a non-technological approach to it that people understood and loved.

Lucky dog. :)
I saw him in SF once back in '04 at WWDC. I didn't have tickets, but I passed by the convention center, and there he was standing outside, black turtleneck and everything.
