  • At 2:20 the owner pulls his hand back a bit, which means that he thought Derren will take it and run away.

That means that Derren never met him before and this isn't fake. :)

  • what the fuck is wrong with you haters? derren brown isn't a hoax, he's just really good at NLP. none of you even noticed the language he used.

1:03 - "It's okay, take it, take it" while talking about a subway.

1:37 - "It's good for you to take, so you can just take that and feel okay"

    3:04 - "Take it, it's fine, it's fine, it's fine"

Fucking christ. I mean, just watch the video of him and Simon Pegg. He's good at using language to convince people to think a certain way.

  • @VirtuosicElevator Anytime you say "we people of a higher class." Gives you an immediate douche card.

  • @TranceWulf no. people dress based on others around them. any social group is like that. grow up prick

  • @VirtuosicElevator Words cannot describe how stuck up you are. Fuckin blue bloods thinking they are better than everyone else...

  • @Japanseb I'm sorry but this is complete bullshit.

    1) My first couple of jobs involved me working a register at some point. There are slots for each coin and dollar amount, up to either $10 or $20. You have to look at the bills to put them in the right slot.

    2) When receiving a $100, we examine it, and we put a mark on it with a special marker that shows if the bill is fake. Even if people don't do all that, I'm sure they will at least glance at the money.

  • you'd think with 4500 dollars the guy would count to make sure it's the right amount....

  • Did anyone else notice hm use the phrase "Take it, it's fine"? That's how he did it. He kept them going in a senseless stream of conversation, then inserted that phrase and they 'obeyed' it without thinking.

Clever, but not too clever. More a trick of cadence.

  • @figginaydogz The first purchase was 18.55. Derren handed him two peices of paper. Naturally he assumed he was handed two tens. There is no other combination that makes sense. The last person assumed exact change as Derren seemed too friendly to con him. Unfortunately that is what he did.

  • Okay, sorry, but I don't really buy this. You can't make change for someone if you don't even know what money they gave you! Each time you make a sale, you get different combinations of bills and different amounts of change to give back, so there's no way anyone would give this guy change without realizing that they had blank pieces of paper. This is BS, unless there's TONS more vids of him doing this and failing.

  • hmm with the black guy the rip-off didn't work..
