Video Script: VO: As American families face higher prices at the pump, Barack Obama opposes immediate relief and lower taxes on fuel.

VO: What Obama has proposed are new tax increases that reduce oil production, increase dependence on foreign oil and hurt consumers.

VIDEO: Obama Video: "I think it is appropriate for us to impose a windfall profit tax on our oil companies."

VO: Obama's proposals have been tried before...

VIDEO: Carter Video: "Congress must enact the windfall profits tax without delay."

VO: Sound familiar?

VO: The last time this was tried, domestic oil production dropped by 5% and US reliance on foreign oil increased by 10%.

Text (displayed during VO): "The last time Congress imposed a form of the windfall tax was the final gloomy days of Jimmy Carter, and the result was: a substantial reduction in domestic oil production (about 5%), thus raising the price of gas at the pump; and a 10% increase in U.S. reliance on foreign oil." While most liberals would like to pin the label on Bush, actually the worst president in US history was Jimmy Carter.

Carter gave us a huge inflation rate (12.5%)...Carter was responsible for the 12 million lost jobs...Carter weakened our military...Reagan came in, and said he would lower taxes, and guess what? 20 million jobs happened to come...Obama wants to raise taxes on businesses, which won't allow them to grow at all...they won't be able to afford those taxes, and to pay a lot of their associates...did you see the libs Obama was talking to? They will believe and agree with everything he says...

YES!!! Finally someone realizes that Jimmy Carter's admin, caused the most damage. He started the government buying sub prime mortgages. He passed the laws to penalize banks who didn't have sub prime borrowers. His policies are showing their detrimental nature NOW. the rule of thumb to give a president 30 years to see how their ideas impact the US.
